We, the undersigned, call for a new link road between Somerden Road and Falkland Road to be built to ease congestion on Marfleet Lane and improve access to the A1033 for residents of Greatfield and the wider east Hull area.
The proposed road would be restricted to cars and buses, preventing lorries and wagons from using narrow residential streets. This sensible plan, championed by Marfleet Labour Councillor Patrick Wilkinson, would make local travel safer, quicker and more efficient.
Despite Labour’s support, Liberal Democrat councillors at Hull City Council voted against the proposal, and the new Hull and East Yorkshire Mayor, Luke Campbell, has refused to back it.
East Hull deserves better transport links and fair investment. Add your name to show your support for this much-needed link road and to send a clear message that east Hull should not be left behind.
